PSYC362: Cognitive Processes (Fall 2016, CSU San Marcos)
New activity! Students created concept maps (mind maps) to connect the different concepts we covered this term. We used concept maps previously and the class really benefited from the exercise. They were nervous about how to approach a cumulative final, and I thought that this would be a good way to help everyone create links across domains.
Students reported that this was one of "the best review sessions" they ever had in college, which was encouraging! Many students are creating their own concept maps for the final exam as well.
Next time I do this, asking students to prepare before class will be critical; 75 minutes was not enough time for this activity. Also, we needed more markers - color coding was important to the class!
In addition to the new review format, I also wanted to learn Prezi for myself. So, here's my first attempt at a Prezi, with the students' work displayed.
