Rare Original Mega-Collectible from ERR! One consensus is that the Elvis Presley "Perfect For Parties" Highlight Album was a giveaway with the purchase of an RCA Records record player of a specific model. While that may be true, various advertisements and articles do not support that theory. It is likely that dealers may have stocked up on this EP on their own with purchases from the advertisements to create their own promotion. Its also possible that there was leftover stock that was distributed to dealers to distribute through various promotions.
Whatever the case may be, the "Perfect for Parties" Highlight Album was a Promo Only Rarity, available through mail order with Coupons.
▼DETAILS!▼
P/S (NM) Cover Front: Paper Stock (Not cardboard bootleg), red, b&w. RCA Victor logo & number at upper R. B&W photo of Elvis & of LPM-1382 LP cover among others. So, you may ask why do we have it listed as "Unique"? Look close at the front cover... note the red ink bleed thru on Elvis' face, guitar & on some of the advertised LP covers. Then, you may say, so what, it's a boot. Well, maybe, maybe Not!? As of 2020 the only known boot sleeve, is a typical hard-stock cardboard EP style sleeve, for the WLP boot record. You then may say, soooo? Well kats & kittens, this ain't hard cardboard stock. It's paper stock as with all the known legit sleeves! If that ain't crazy enough, as we were prepping it for pics, we found a 'surprise'! Inside the sleeve is a 1-sided red & white diamond pattern cardboard stock insert! Don't ask! We DON'T know!! Possibly a printing pattern/color test sheet?? If all that ain't enough, wait til ya read about the Record! Read on...
Cover Back: Text, no photo. Has number, "SPA-7-37" at upper R. In some Rare cases, such as with This P/S, the fold & cut of the cover, may make no, or only a partial reference to the catalog number on the back, upper R corner.
Vinyl: (NM) (S1) DUAL Matrix: STAMPED: G2N H7231-8S AX AND WRITTEN: G2NH 7231-8S A3 / (S2): STAMPED: G2N H7232-7S A2 (Rockaway pressing).
Whatever the case, whatever the reason, this is 1 wild & crazy record & sleeve combo!! In 50+ years of dealing with records, we have Never seen a 7" record, 45, or EP, with DUAL MATRIX by ANY artist, let alone The KING! Many of our followers are aware we work with & contribute to Mr. Paul Combs; "ElvisRecords.com" & Mr. Felix Gubeli; "Bootleg Elvis". This listing is Not to be found in either their respective website, or books! Nor is it in any price guide! A true mystery & anomaly! 1 thing we DO know, boot records are Not 'Stamped'! ERR Has it for YOU!!
