Jiwen Lu is a Research Scientist at the Advanced Digital Sciences Center (ADSC), Singapore, the Singapore-based research center of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), set up with funding from the Agency of Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). He received the B.Eng. degree in mechanical engineering and the M.Eng. degree in electrical engineering from the Xi'an University of Technology, Xi'an, China, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, respectively. His research interests include computer vision, pattern recognition, and machine learning. He has authored/co-authored over 110 scientific papers in these areas, where 27 papers are published in the IEEE Transactions journals (T-PAMI/IP/CSVT/IFS/MM/CYB) and 17 papers are published in top-tier computer vision conferences (ICCV/CVPR/ECCV). He serves an Associate Editor for Pattern Recognition Letters, Neurocomputing, IEEE Access, and IEEE Biometrics Council Newsletters. He is/was an Area Chair for ICME'15, ICB'15, and WACV'16, and a Special Session Co-Chair for VCIP'15. He is a senior member of the IEEE.
