Conversational Fluency

-Bringing It All Together-

Foreign Language Classroom Activities to

Teach, Practice & Test Conversational Fluency

Thanks

The ConFluency materials were developed at the Fujikawa No. 1 and No. 2 Junior High Schools in Fujikawa-cho, Shizuoka, Japan.  The card game and other activities have since been used in the other junior high school in Ihara County, Yui Junior High School.  Thanks of course first goes to our students, who have allowed us to persist with our enthusiasm for the success of the materials and activities in their classrooms.
The freedom and encouragement for the development of the ConFluency card game owes a special thanks to Hirofumi Nagahashi, now at Fujikawa No. 1 Junior High School.  Without his continued commitment and advice the materials would never have been created nor reached their current level of development.  The Q-Card Activity presented on this website is his creation alone, though its’ use as presented has been adapted for teaching the ConFluency Card Game skills.
The Japanese homepage on this website are his translation, as well as most other Japanese language materials found here.

Thanks is also due to Toshiyuki Ogasawara, now at Yui Junior High School, for his continued commitment to the use of the materials in his classes.

Thanks also to these two teachers and the other junior high school English teachers in Ihara County, Shizuoka, for their choice to present the ConFluency Card Game and Q-Card Activity at the 2007 All-Shizuoka Prefecture Teachers’ Conference in Numazu City in August 2007.
During the past 11 years there have been several other English teachers in the Fujikawa junior high schools who have given valuable advice, input, and most importantly, class time.
A sincere thanks to all of you for your trust and encouragement.  And above all, thank you for your courage to try something new.
