So I was all in conference prep mode this last week, and that reminds me that this site is over 2 years old of once a week wackiness, since I remember poking about with it in Seattle which was...2006...congratulations to you, me. But anyhow, I had sat down to have some tea and had a song stuck in my head.
So, as long as I was sitting there checking my electronic mail, I was like "hey, let me look up the video as that is the fastest way to be listening to that song, without pulling out my computer." Instant gratification. This is what the internets are for. Anyhow, this was the video for the song:
Now, while I usually don't put too much information about myself here, let me note that I spent many a weekend in a microfabrication facility in previous years...so let me say this:
Your products will be way more likely to work if you use the appropriate tweezers to transfer silicon wafers if you absolutely have to handle them.
...so that part of the video pretty much made me cringe. In a weird way.
(I sort of liked the "powers of 10" call back* and it was surely otherwise lovely, but there was a part of me that was terrified that it was going to end up with a wafer-breaking which is ....heart-wrenching, in a way that I can imagine being used for audience manipulation.)
* Here is the powers of 10 video. I feel like I saw it when I was a kid, maybe at a museum?
It's great. I think this is the kind of thing one needs to get kids into science.
