Paula Gunn Allen was a Two Spirit woman from the Laguna Pueblo people and of Lebanese, Metis and Scottish descent. She wrote the groundbreaking book The Sacred Hoop- Recovering the Feminine in American Indian Traditions as well as novels, essays, poetry and literary criticism. She was brilliant, hilarious, an out lesbian and was a bold thinker about history, politics and spirit. Thought Woman is a great introduction to this amazing writer and a powerful celebration for those who are already engaged with her body of work. Read article about film.
