Lissa Naylor was born on December 20, 1992. She originally trained at Plano Aerobats. She moved to Kurt Thomas Gymnastics for the 2005 season. After one season, she began competing for Metroplex Gymnastics. She followed her coaches, Jana and Marcus Harlin, to Elite Champion in January of 2009.

Lissa competed level five in 2003. She finished third all-around at the North State Championships. She also placed third on floor. In 2004, she won beam at the TAAF Level 6 State Championships. She finished fifth all-around. She moved up to level seven in 2005. Lissa won floor at the Cancun Classic. At the State Championships, she finished fourth on vault and sixth on beam. She repeated level seven in 2006. She finished third on both beam and floor at the State Championships.

In 2007, Lissa competed level eight. She won floor at the State Championships. At Regionals, she earned a silver medal on floor. After not competing in 2008, she returned in 2009 as a level nine. She won a silver medal on beam at the WOGA Classic.
