In a nutshell.
I am Assistant Professor in Environmental Science in Society at the group Technology, Innovation and Society at the Technical University Eindhoven. I am also affiliated with the Institute for Environmental Studies, the VU University Amsterdam.

You are what you like.

My research focuses on two broad themes:

How is scientific knowledge on environmental topics produced by experts and communicated to the broader public?: I am mostly interested in scientific and technological knowledge related to climate change. I have been studying the role and impact of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the societal framing of geoengineering technologies, the Climate Dialogue blog on controversial issues on climate change.

To what extent can distributed governance address environmental problems?  I am interested on the role of participatory processes and how they can address environmental problems. I have been investigating societal framing of climate adaptation, the stakeholder consultations for climate mainstreaming, and local communities investing in renewable energies.

A reasonably recent CV.
