This Spring's eLearning Course is ... 

"Learning about Internet Tools & Services"




Schedule:

The first full session was held on Sunday, 21st at 3 PM to 4:30 PM. After April 21, the next two face-to face sessions were held on selected Saturday's 2:00 PM for a maximum of 90 minutes. The session were completed on June 1st. We are continuing follow up session in July to test some of the services.

Scheduled dates are follows (subject to change)

Saturday, April 6th           -    Starter Session, 2-4 PM

Wednesday, April 18th  -     2nd Starter Session, 6-8 PM

Sunday, April 21st          -    First Session, 3-5 PM

Saturday, May 4th           -  Second Session, 2-4 PM

Saturday, June 1st          -    Final Session, 2-4 PM

Saturday, July 6th          -    Google Hangout, 8-9 PM


Discussion Group:

Course participants are asked to join the Course Google Group to get the most of the course. We will use the group to learn about its features and to have discussion among the participants.

Course Description:

If you ever wanted to learn about using the web and its possible services for your chapter then we have a training series for you. NPHC of Greater Greenville is sponsoring a Spring series of sessions for its members to better utilize the internet. Attendees will learn to better market their chapters as well as communicate with their members and the public at large. 

The Location for all the sessions will be Hughes Library, Downtown Greenville, in 2nd Floor Study rooms.

Two "Starter" sessions, were held on April 6th & 18th, with the goal of getting participants on-line and working with the Council Website tools using Google Sites


Goals:

At the first starter session, we created a "hit list" of goals to explore each session for the next few months. The goals for the three-month series will include the following topics:

  • How to build your own Chapter website for free using Google Sites.
  • Creating a shared calendar for your Chapter events using Google Calendar
  • Create Docs with Google Drive and Post on personal websites
  • Review some available Website hosting and Domain services.
  • Using PayPal to collect funds from our members and the public from a website.
  • Using Eventbrite to create on-line registration and tickets for your events.
 

Requirements:

This course is only for active chapters and their members of the council and is being led by Bobby Clark, NPHC-GG webmaster. The series is free but you must list your Chapter affiliation and have a reference from your Chapter President, in order to be accepted. The class is limited to 2 attendees per chapter. Participants also will need to have their own laptop and bring that laptop to use at the sessions. Laptops will need to be running a recent version of Windows or MacOS to get the most out of the sessions.
