The 2nd International Elasmobranch Husbandry Symposium
Symposium

The 2nd International Elasmobranch Husbandry Symposium, hosted by the Monterey Bay Aquarium, was held in November of 2013 with over 230 attendees representing 24 countries.

Three key themes were covered by the Symposium: sustainability, focusing on reproduction and captive population management; health, focusing on clinical techniques; and husbandry, covering general care and animal welfare.

The proceedings from the Symposium will be prepared and published as a second volume of the Elasmobranch Husbandry Manual due in 2015 (Editors: Mark Smith, Doug Warmolts, Dennis Thoney, Robert Hueter, Manny Ezcurra and Michael Murray).
