The Kingaroy Eisteddfod has been a major stepping stone for many young artists providing them with the opportunity of further development of their artistic practice.
Our music eisteddfod usually takes place over 3-4 days in the Kingaroy Town Hall covering a wide range of instruments and groups, vocals and bands.

We have available tea, coffee and biscuits during the music Eisteddfod otherwise there are a number of cafes nearby and a shopping centre a short walk away.
Kingaroy’s Music Eisteddfod provides a supportive and encouraging environment in which young and not so young musicians and singers are offered a valuable performance experience enhanced by the chance to share with their peers the positive benefits of participating in the arts.

We try to choose our adjudicators with great care to ensure they are encouraging and helpful as well as fair ensuring you have a picture of where you stand on the national and international stage in your performance.

Ashley Gittens was our 2012 adjudicator encouraging our performers and educating the audience with his helpful comments. We were very sad to hear of the passing of our 2013 Adjudicator Harley Mead.  Harley was an inspiration to all with a generous and energetic style. – his infectious enthusiasm for music making was a wonderful encouragement.  He will be sadly missed.

Our 2015 Adjudicator was Helen Little. Helen is currently working both nationally and overseas as a teacher, examiner and adjudicator, as well as teaching instrumental music at Somerset College.  She has been involved not only as an adjudicator but also as convenor of the National Eisteddfod in Canberra, and the initial development of the Miles Franklin Music Festival and the Somerset Festival. She was a conductor for nine years at Musicfest, participated in a concert band tour to the International Band Festival in Taiwan, and was part of a Queensland based choir that participated in the Advent Festival in Vienna in 2013.  She established and is still the convenor for the Somerset Festival for Young Performers. Her motto is ‘by believing all your geese are swans, you end up with more than your fair share of the latter.”

Our Adjudicator for 2018 is Mrs Anne-Maree Eyles B.Mus, A.Mus.A

We look forward to meeting you all this next year!
