PICISI Awards Its First Contract To MakingMoneyHoney

posted Aug 29, 2015, 10:12 AM by Armis Game   [ updated Aug 29, 2015, 10:12 AM ]

PICISI, a crowdfunding start-up presently under construction, recently announced that they awarded their first contract to MakingMoneyHoney and that payment will be made with “Pi”.

Once PICISI is launched it will allow crowdfunding campaign organizers to raise funds in fiat (USD, EUR, GBP etc … ) as well as cryptocurrency (EMC2, HYPER, METAL, etc …).   The PICISI issued cryptocurrency (CC) called Pi (currency code NUMUS) is awaiting release and will be used in the day-to-day business operation of PICISI.  The primary uses of Pi will be:

1) to raise funds for start-up and multiple operational licenses worldwide,

2) to pay Promotion Contractors and others worldwide who do assignments for PICISI,

3) as a host CC option for Campaign Organizers,

and

4) as a CC payment option for PICISI sponsors.

For more information about Pi click here.   Here are 4 primary ways that PI is will be earned:

1)  by an Administrator,

2)  by a Promotions Contractor doing 'Staple' Assignments, these are no bid contracts,

3)  by a Promotions Contractor doing 'Reserve' Assignments, these are bid contracts,

and

4)  by a Referral Agent,

Earlier in May PICISI put out a public request for bids to design the logo for Pi, given that PICISI has not yet launched the response was light, especially considering that payment for the service would be made in Pi after the currency is launched.  Of the bids that were submitted MakingMoneyHoney was selected and awarded the contract.

All of the bidders were good designers so the competition was tough.  MakingMoneyHoney won the bid and produced the following images: MakingMoneyHoney of which PICISI selected the following image to be the official logo for Pi: Pi Logo

The image is of a home-made blueberry pie, with the ‘Pi’ sign with a group of people cut-out in the center of the pie.  At the lower right of the Pi symbol is the word “NUMUS” -- Pi’s currency code.

PICISI is very please with the work and has acknowledged it is the first bid contract PICISI has awarded and will be paid for with Pi.

MakingMoneyHoney is a web designer she MakingMoneyHoney.com and WhatsCryptocurrency.com,  she is known at two of the most popular CC discussion board: MakingMoneyHoney from the bitcointalk.org / altcointalk.org forums. She created these sites to serve as an easy to understand guide to cryptocurrency for those new to the crypto-world. She could be found at twitter @MakingMoneybtc

MakingMoneyHoney.com also hosts a sortable cryptocurrency faucet listing. So, newcomers, as well as everyone else, can easily find the best faucets for their favorite cryptos. There are a few faucet rotators as well: Bitcoin, Dogecoin, DASH, Litecoin and Peercoin for quickly collecting from popup free faucets.

Crowdfunding Startup, PICISI, Looking For A Few Good Admins

Crowdfunding Startup, PICISI, Looking For A Few Good Admins

Recently PICISI unveiled its site design concept at www.PICISI.com.  The design is bold and innovative, it tells viewers in no uncertain terms that cryptocurrency and sponsorships will play major roles in how PICISI will operated upon launch.

The margins of the home page are reserved for PICISI’s top 10 sponsors, in the center of the page are 8 feature campaigns, at first glance they look like campaign panels from any other crowdfunding site except with one major difference -- an additional currency line.  One currency line is for fiat (USD, GBP, EUR, etc …) and a second currency line is for cryptocurrency (bitcoin, HYPER, Metal, Einsteinium, etc …).  This is marketing genius for the cryptocurrency industry, what better way to introduce a currency than in a way that places it front and center in a business application that actually uses the currency as a currency (as opposed to a commodity).  Ok the plan is great so what’s holding up the launch?

According to its creator PICISI is designed to run efficiently with 8 admins (Executive Director, Deputy Director, Assistant Director, Promotions Director, Content Director, Communications Director, Finance Director and Compliance Director) + 1 Tech.   The project determined that a minimum of 6 (Executive Director, Deputy Director, Assistant Director, Promotions Director, Content Director, and Communications Director,) admins are essential in order to launch the site, currently they have 2 -- the Executive Director and the Assistant Director.  As such -- PICISI needs a few good admins to manage the site.

Given their prelaunch goals they are well on their way to site launch:

1) recruit a min. of 6 admins, they now have 2;

2) secure a min of 20 sponsors, they now have 23 -- goal achieved & surpassed;

3) secure a min of 8 campaigns to crowdfund, they now have 3 solid;

4) recruit a min of 1 referral agent, they now have 1 -- goal achieved;

5) associate with a min of 2 promotion contractors, they now have 15 -- goal achieved & surpassed;

6) associate with a min of 1 campaign contractor, they now have 12 -- goal achieved & surpassed;

and

7) publish a min of 5 articles, they now have 15 -- goal achieved & surpassed.

There are only two prerequisites delaying the launch: ‘Admins’ & ‘Campaigns’.  Up to now the site was blank, now with the design concept up they are hoping to attract people who want to kickstart this new crowdfunding startup.  If the twitter (@PICISIproject) response is any indication, they will do just fine:

Jeremiah Nichol ‏@prodjkc  said: “so proud of this wonderful $HYPER team!”

Invino ‏@VarvarinEMC2  retweeted PICISI: “Beautiful! Go #PICISI and thanks again #HYPER backers. All star team.”

$HYPER said: “WIki has been updated with the $HYPER #crowdfunding site @PICISIproject coming soon” and

JG ‏@justingiefer   @garykealy2 said: “@d_seaman @HyperCrypto $HYPER also teaming up with @PICISIproject #crowdfunding. check it out “

Here are brief job descriptions for the available admin positions:

The Deputy Director -  second in command, is in charge when the Exec Dir is on vacation, incapacitated, or as directed by the Exec Dir.

The Content Director - responsible for all site content, primary focus is quantity and quality of campaigns, secondly site usability

The Promotion Director - responsible for promoting the site to sponsors, organizers, donors, and media for more business.

The Communications Director - responsible for creating site news somewhere around the world everyday. via press releases, articles, and interviews.

7 Keys To Picking A Solid Cryptocurrency

Tweet:  The PICISI issued currency will finance crowdfunding growth and development

7 indications that you found a promising cryptocurrency (CC):

  1. Creator’s Vision -  every CC creator has a plan, most of the time the plan is focused around high technology, and/or sophisticated features, often absent from common plans are marketing, distribution, or adoption strategies.  It is recommended that you know the CC creator’s vision for the CC even if the developer is no longer available to personally address.  A supportive community should be able to articulate a clear vision for the currency.

PICISI is the creator of Pi, they have a well articulated vision for the CC.  Pi will be used more as a currency than a commodity.  As a currency Pi will be used a) as a means of exchange between Promotion Contractors and PICISI: b) to raise start-up funds and to procure multiple operational licenses; c) as a host CC option for Campaign Organizers at PICISI; and d) as a payment alternative for PICISI sponsors paying fees.  A major aspect of  PICISI’s vision is the plan to “rebuy” Pi on the open market with the fiat earnings.

  1. Integrity - decentralization in the CC industry essentially means: ‘no central point of responsible’ however to some it means: ‘many are independently willing to accept responsibility’.  Responsive, accountable, and transparent are some of the character traits often used to describe responsible caretakers of a currency.

Although Pi is technically a decentralized currency, because it is built on a decentralized platform, it should be viewed as a hybrid because a large amount of the currency will be controlled by PICISI.

PICISI will be a responsible steward of Pi.

  1. Community - all of the people directly involved with a CC: creator, administrators, investors, supporters, anyone that uses the CC, watchers/trackers/followers of the CC, regular contractors for the CC, including the uninvolved supporters (endorsers) of the CC should be considered part of the CC’s community.

Some good sign of a healthy community is daily interaction, regular update of meaningful content, some form of leadership, a healthy mix of membership tenure, respectful interactions, and a growing membership.

PICISI is at the prelaunch stage with an impressive community size of about 30 members: 2 admins, 20 sponsors, 12 Promotion Contractors, and 1 volunteer.  Their prelaunch strategy clearly is to ‘hit the ground running’ and to insure a healthy beginning.

  1. Structure & Security - in the CC universe centralization is a bad word, however whenever a major upgrade is needed or the market rate for the CC takes a disappointing turn investors are always looking for someone to take the lead to handle it.  Foundations, elected leaders, and/or individuals who  ‘step-up’ to assume leadership roles are stabilizing forces for a currency.

At every point in the development of a currency security is vital, safety enables a currency to be able to grow into a strong currencies.

Pi’s security is built into the security of NXT and NXT’s Monetary System; that association is also what technically qualifies the CC to be considered a decentralized currency, however since PICISI will control well over 50% much of the time, for practical purposes it should be considered centralized, or perhaps ‘hybridized’.

  1. Purpose & Productive Performance -  a CC should have a well articulated purpose, after the code is written, community gathered, and allocations made … then what?  At some point a currency must perform as a currency otherwise it is a commodity, or worse a space holder.  Productive performance means it has an articulated purpose and is being used to an extent that it is visible, recognized, and woven into the culture.

Pi’s purpose is articulated in the developer’s vision, the currency was created to be used mainly as a currency for 4 specific purposes, however the most primary purpose for the currency is to be used as a means to pay Promotion Contractors located worldwide for providing services to tell the rest of the world what PICISI has to offer.

  1. Utility - between ‘purpose’ and ‘performance’ is ‘adoption’, adoption of a currency often refers to merchant acceptance or willingness to accept the currency.  Utility often refers to the currency’s useage.

Many times CCs create for themselves a niche market choosing to focus on a particular segment of the market instead of the whole market, eg: HYPER CC that focuses on the gaming industry.

PICISI has chosen to limit the market size substantially by tying Pi to the business. The currency was built to serve the business needs of PICISI.

and

  1. Meaningful Drive - is marketing and outreach that enables you to provide your target audience with additional depth on the subject, perspective, detailed, or nuance and time to think, this is in contrast to irresponsible hyperbole or rhetoric that often precedes PNDs.

Cryptocurrency is a complex subject those who are responsible for promoting a currency should be willing to explain every detail to you in terms that you understand.

When considering a cryptocurrency to invest in, think on these things.

Crowdfunding with PICISI

PICISI is a crowdfunding startup designed to accept many different national currencies such as USD, GBP, and EUR, but it will also have a high concentration of cryptocurrencies such as BTC (bitcoin), EMC2 (Einsteinium), HYPER (HYPER), and Doge (Doge) to name only 4 of over 1300.

PICISI will have its own currency called "Pi", Pi will help finance the crowdfunding site's growth and development. This article will take a closer look at Pi and how it will help PICISI make a big impact in the cryptocurrency universe as will as the crowdfunding space.

Pi will have many purposes in the development of PICISI: firstly it will be used to raise capital - it will finance initial website construction as well as site upgrades. A major expense is the cost of license procurement from state to state and country to country, it is expected to be over a million dollars worth of licenses, this cost would be spread out to minimize impact.

Pi will be used to pay for PICISI assignments - the main day-to-day use of Pi will be to pay for the enormous amount of marketing, outreach, and publicity the site plans on generating. PICISI's mantra is 'Promotion, Promotion, Promotion'.

PICISI's in intent is to do lots of promoting for itself as well as it's sponsors and the campaigns raising funds at the site. It's important to note that most crowdfunding sites rarely promote the campaigns featured at their site.

Pi will be a host CC option - campaign organizers will have the opportunity to select PI as the host cryptocurrency for their campaign.

and

PI will be a payment option for sponsors - sponsors will be able to pay for sponsorship packages using PI.

The value of Pi will largely be determined by the open market, however PICISI's performance should have some impact on the currency's value. It is expected that Pi's price respond positively to the Initial Token Offering. Once it is used on a daily basis (as indicated above) the currency value should show signs of stabilizing. It is also expected dip in value at the times when funds are pulled to pay for major projects like site upgrades and license procurement.

PICISI is targeting various cryptocurrency exchanges to be their Official Exchange Sponsor. The official exchange sponsor's site is where PICISI will exclusively purchase PICISI currency using the fees they generate via fiat.

Initially Pi's expected worth is targeted at $1 each, it is expected that the currency will increase steadily in value with meaningful popularity, with site upgrades, with each license procurement, and particularly as site earnings increase. A $10 Pi is a good 1st year resting target. Since Pi will be tied to PICISI's performance and used in the day-to-day operations of the business it is expected that Pi will be both strong and stable as compared to all other cryptocurrencies.

If you like the direction PICISI is traveling you are invited to support them.

PICISI is a crowdfunding site with a three word mantra: ‘Promotion, Promotion, Promotion’. Our goal is to promote the PICISI message, to promote the message of our sponsors, and to promote the message of each of the campaigns at our site. Our intent is to be in a constant state of perpetual promotion, that means all day, every day, everywhere around the world. To do this we will create a massive international network of associates to satisfactorily complete PICISI assignments on a regular basis.

PICISI assignments can be as simple as retweeting campaign content to an established fan based, to as complex as website development. Most of our assignments are centered around writing, social networking, and video production. Let’s take a look at 16 real PICISI assignments to get a sense of what we want (and willing to pay):

1)
Videos
  • 5 second sponsor video (25)
  • 5 min interview of a sponsor (80)
  • 30 second PICISI video (100)
  • 1 min PICISI explainer video (80)
2)  Graphics
  • badges (5)
  • unique article images (25)
  • t-shirt graphic (50)
  • PICISI logo (30)
3)  Social Networking
  • Start PICISI topic at any authorized Discussion Board site (1)
  • tweeting and retweeting (2 - 3)
4)  Articles
  • published PICISI relevant article (min 500 words) at any self publishing site (60)
  • articles published by national media sites or national newspaper (200)
  • Reprint an PICISI article that was already published elsewhere (2)
5)  Interviews
  • TV interview (or segment) on CF and you mention our site at least twice and provide address. We must have copy for youtube. (50)
  • Radio interview (or segment) about CF, you mention our site at least twice and provide address. We must have copy of the show. (50)
  • do follow-up story of successfully completed campaign (75)

Please note token value is expected to fluctuate from time to time with supply and demand, however since the PICISI issued token is primarily tied to the performance of PICISI it should be relatively strong and stable.

The PICISI mantra is "Promotion, Promotion, Promotion", even in our pre-launch state, we are aggressively promoting PICISI and our sponsors.  It is by design that PICISI is in a perpetual state of promotion.  This article will feature reasons why cryptocurrency (CC) communities should sponsor crowdfunding campaigns at PICISI.

Promotion is a major part of what we do at PICISI, it starts with our unconventional hiring plan.  It is our intent to hire self-employed contractors all over the world to do various assignments (video production, article writing, social networking, etc ...) to promote our message, the message of our sponsors, as well as the individual message of our campaign organizers.  We want our combined voices heard everywhere, all day, every day.

The very best place to market a CC will be at PICISI, that is where a CC sponsor will be able to introduce a CC in many different ways -- we have 10 sponsorship opportunities  The primary ways to get your message conveyed is as: host CC sponsor, campaign sponsor, donor perk sponsor, advertising perk sponsor, and campaign video sponsor; and secondarily as: home / category page sponsor, donation list sponsor, article sponsor, youtube channel sponsor, and PICISI merchandising sponsor.  Let’s take a closer look at the primary sponsorship opportunities:

Host CC Sponsor -  once an organizer has elected to have a ‘sponsor currency’ all CC sponsors are given the opportunity win the honor, once the connection is made all CCs donated to that campaign will be converted to the host CC.

Every visitor to the campaign will see the host CC in action, not simply as an ad.  Additionally organizers are able to use the funds with any of the campaign contractors to create, develop, or promote their campaign.  This type of practical and positive interaction with CCs will improve how the general public views the cryptocurrency industry.

Campaign Sponsor - this is the most common type of sponsorship seen in crowdfunding campaigns. The sponsor’s logo is placed within an area of the body of the campaign text. The higher your donation the higher your logo will appear in the sponsorship logo area.

Donor Perk Sponsor -  a sponsor provided perk is escrowed by PICISI on behalf of a specific campaign where it will be used.  If the perk is not requested by any qualified donor it is converted to host CC and donated to the campaign.

Advertising Perk Sponsor -  a sponsor provided perk escrowed by PICISI on behalf of a specific campaign to be used as a perk.  If the perk is not requested by any qualified campaign donor the perk is sent back to the sponsor -- the perk is NOT donated to the campaign.

and

Campaign Video Sponsor -  the first 5 seconds of the campaign organizer's video is allocated for the Campaign Video Sponsor, this is where the sponsor will indicate: “This video is brought to you by … [say sponsor's name, show sponsor's logo, and say sponsor's catchphrase]”

‘Purpose CCs’ are CCs that were created with a specific niche in mind eg: EMC2, Metal, HYPER, RPC, Gridcoin, EDU, etc ...  these types of CCs will find it easier to target their message in specific PICISI categories eg: the Science Research category for the CCs EMC2, and Gridcoin; likewise for Gaming / Game Development category for HYPER and GMC; the Music category for Metal coin; the Politics category for RPC, the Education category for EDU; and the Renewable Energy category for ENRG.

One of our launch prerequisites is to secure a minimum of 20 sponsors, currently we have 14:  Crypto Database, www.ArmisGame.com, The Einsteinium News, Crypto Cloud Hosting, Bitcoin PR Buzz, Einsteinium (EMC2), Metal Coin (METAL),  HYPER (HYPER), Hobonickels (HBN), Energy Coin (ENRG), Artsry Coin, GSM Coin (GSM), Stiviacoin (STV), and Magi coin (XMG).  If you like the direction PICISI is traveling I invite you to support us with sponsorship and to share our message with your constituents.

Tweet:  Let’s take a brief look at PICISI management

PICISI 1

As you know from “What is PICISI?”, PICISI (Philanthropic Investment and Charity for Inventions, Startups, and Ideas) is an crowdfunding startup that will accept all significant currency types (fiat and crypto) for campaigns conducted at the site. PICISI is expected to launch in a month.

PICISI is designed to have an 8 person management team: Executive Director, Deputy Director, Assistant Director, Content Director, Promotion Director, Communications Director, Finance Director, and Compliance Director. At present only 2 positions are filled (Executive Director and Assistant Director). Let’s take a brief look at each position and how they relate to the organization.

  • The Executive Director is the chief executive who is finally responsible to all PICISI stakeholders. His vision for PICISI can be summed up in three words: Promotion, Promotion, Promotion! Promotion is how the PICISI brand will be established, how each sponsor’s message is conveyed, and how each campaign will realize its potential.
  • The Deputy Director is in charge when the Executive Director is unavailable or when so directed by the Executive Director. Ideally this person would be a great compliment to the Executive Director, he would provide a healthy contrast on issues and opinions. Perhaps more focused on day-to-day micro issues as the Exec Dir focuses on day-to-day macro issues. Someone with a healthy understanding of all of the following: crowdfunding, cryptoccurrency, charity, social networking, and business law may be an ideal fit.
         This position is available.
  • The Assistant Director is responsible for assisting the Executive Director and the Deputy Director, however at times he may also serve other directors as the need arises. Much of his day is filled with social networking assignments.
  • The Finance Director/ Auditor is responsible for all financial record keeping, filings, reportings, taxes, and licenses; also responsible for site security, internal audits, and member services. It is expected to cost in excess of $1M to secure all of the necessary licenses to operate at targeted locations around the world, He must map and implement a strategic plan to secure the licenses with minimal financial disruption of operations. Will do periodic site security audits to test strengths and uncover weakness. In consultation with the Compliance Director the Finance Director will handle all Customer Service issues to the reasonable satisfaction of all concerned.
This position will become available after the site has launched.
  • The Content Director is responsible for everything visible on the site, the primary focus is campaigns, campaigns are the heart of the site his job is to produce large volumes of high quality campaigns. The secondary focus is securing sponsorships. The following categories are of high interest to us for various reasons:
    • Technology - technology is the triple crown of crowdfunding, it looks good, solves a problem, and often exceeds goal expectations.
    • Science Research - direct category affiliation with specific purpose coins, eg: EMC2, GRC, and FLDC.
    • Gaming and Game Development - direct category affiliation with specific purpose coins, eg: HYPER and GMC coin
    • Politics - direct category affiliation with specific purpose coins, eg: RPC. More importantly in the USA we are gearing up for our next presidential election (2016) so many election campaigns have already started fundraising.
    • Education - direct category affiliation with specific purpose coins, eg: EDU coin
    • Music - direct category affiliation with a specific purpose coin, eg: Metal coin.
    • Renewable Energy Projects - direct category affiliation with specific purpose coins, eg:SLR, GRE, and ENRG.
Purpose driven cryptocurrencies such as those presented above should become sponsors of PICISI campaigns in the respective categories -- it just makes sense.
This position is available, three people have expressed interest however no determination has been made as of yet.
  • The Promotion Director is responsible for promoting the site to sponsors, organizers, members, donors, and media to generate business. Responsible for instructing and monitoring the Promotion Contractors and Campaign Contractors. This person is an trainer as well as a hard-sales guy, he is expected to received unassigned sales traffic and have a high close rate. This person must be knowledgeable, personable, and patient, yet know when and how to close a deal.
         This position is available.
  • The Communications Director is responsible for the PICISI message, he is the face and voice of PICISI, his top priority is having our site make news all day, everyday somewhere around the world: via press release, article, and/or interview.
         This position is available.
  • The Compliance Director is responsible for enforcement of site policies and procedures, and all things judicial in nature eg: ranking, feedback, and reviews. More importantly he is responsible for work certification -- he determines if an assignment was completed satisfactorily. This person must be knowledgeable, reasonable, and resolute.
This position will become available after the site has launched.

In the beginning all admins are expected to pitch-in where needed, as the site matures the role of each director will become more defined.

Of the 8 administrators the following 6 are considered critical for launch: Executive Director, Deputy Director, Assistant Director, Content Director, Promotion Director, and Communications Director; currently we have two (Executive Director and Assistant Director), so if you or someone you know, is interested in being part of PICISI’s management team please contact us.

PICISI Admin Compensation Plan

All PICISI work is compensated with PICISI issued tokens. Once the site starts earning fees, the amount received in fiat will be used to buy PICISI issued tokens at our favorite exchange(s) -- when we secure an official exchange sponsor all of our purchases will be executed exclusively at the site of the official exchange sponsor for PICISI.

Since the token is tied to the specific performance of PICISI and we will actually used the token in the day-to-day operation of the business the token is expected to be both strong and stable.

Feel free to ask any question you wish.

Philanthropic Investment and Charity for Inventions, Startups, and Ideas is an ambitious crowdfunding startup that will accept all significant currency types.   This endeavor will likely change how cryptocurrency is viewed by the masses since it will enable people to see and use cryptocurrency in positive ways.

PICISI will be run with integrity, every account will be verified, and mgmt will review each campaign.   Microfunding via cryptocurrency combined with a great number of generous sponsors should result in every campaign at PICISI receiving some level of funding -- no one leaves with zero.

PICISI will launch with the bare necessities: a simple site, a skeleton crew, and a few sponsors.   During the first 90 days our admins and recruiters will assemble a full compliment of participants from organizers and donors to sponsors and contractors; by the end of the period we expect significant growth.

At PICISI we define promotion three different ways:

  1. Publicity - broadly raising site awareness to grow the audience ie: sponsors, organizers, and donors.
  2. Outreach - the specific purpose of finding organizers to conduct campaigns at our site.
  3. Marketing - the specific purpose of finding donors to fund campaigns at our site.

To achieve our goals the Executive Director will assemble an energetic team of professionals: Deputy Director, Assistant Director, Content Director, Promotion Director, Communications Director; in addition to Referral Agents, Promotion Contractors, and Campaign Contractors.

  • Promotion Contractor - select and complete PICISI publicity, marketing, and/or outreach assignments.
  • Campaign Contractor - work for organizers to create, develop, and/or promote their respective campaigns.

You are invited to help us build the PICISI community; before launch we need a minimum of 20 sponsors (currently we have 7: www.Armisgame.com, The Einsteinium News, The Einsteinium Foundation, Crypto Cloud Hosting, Sativacoin, Artsycoin, and HYPER); min 8 campaigns to crowd fund (currently we have 3), min. of 6 administrators (currently we have 2), min of 2 promotion contractors (currently we have none), min of 1 referral agent, (currently we none), min of 1 campaign contractor (currently have 3); we will also publish PICISI articles on the following subjects:

Science Study: Solution For Memory Loss Due To Sleep Deprivation

We all know the wonders of a good night's sleep, but did you know that just brief periods of sleep deprivation can lead to deficits in memory formation?  Dr. Robbert Havekes, PhD is a research scientist associated with the University of Pennsylvania, his research examines the matter of how sleep loss causes cognitive problems and how to prevent the problems.

Sleep enables your body to repair and recharge itself, while your brain reorganizes filed memories   Without adequate sleep, your brain becomes foggy, and your memory files begin to fragment.

In a study published in the Journal of Neuroscience a team led by scientists from the University of Pennsylvania found that a particular set of cells in a small region of the brain are responsible for memory problems after sleep loss.  By selectively increasing levels of a signaling molecule in these cells, the researchers successfully prevented memory deficits in mice.  Dr. Havekes was the lead author in the study.

Dr. Havekes is a research associate in the lab of Ted Abel, the study's senior author and Professor of Biology in Penn's School of Arts & Sciences.  In 2009, the Abel's lab published a study in Nature that identified sleep-loss-associated memory problems.

Recently, Havekes and colleagues devised a way via "pharmacogenetic" a blending of genetic modification and drug administration to manipulate the cAMP pathways in the brain that previously were  affected by sleep deprivation.

"What we've shown is this memory loss due to sleep deprivation is really dependent on misregulation of cAMP signaling in the excitatory neurons of the hippocampus," Havekes said.

"At least in the mouse using these sophisticated tools, we're able to reverse the negative impact of sleep deprivation on cognition," Abel said.

While this study focused on the impact of a brief period of sleep deprivation, Havekes is curious to know how not getting enough sleep on a daily basis, more similar to human experiences, might be affecting memory. "Thinking about people who do shift work or doctors who work long hours, if we can tackle the cognitive problems that result from sleep loss, that would be a great thing," Havekes said.

PICISI Lite

posted Feb 28, 2015, 2:32 PM by Armis Game   [ updated Mar 23, 2015, 11:30 PM ]

This is an ITC (Initial Token Offering) to introduce PICISI to the cryptocurrency (CC) universe and to raise funds to create and develop a crowdfunding website  that accepts fiat and CC.

PICISI

(Philanthropic Investment and Charity for Inventions, Startups, and Ideas)

PICISI is where crowdfunding (CF) Organizers, Sponsors, Donors, and Contractors gather to materialize dreams.

The platform will accept all publicly traded CCs, and any fiat accepted by Paypal.  The “Host CC” is the CC that all other CCs will be immediately converted to at a specific CF campaign. PICISI tokens will be the default Host CC.  The Host CC can change Organizer preference or by sponsorship.

PICISI sponsorship opportunities:

  1. Host CC - is the currency that all other CCs will be converted to for a particular Campaign.

  2. Campaign - sponsor’s logo is affixed to body of campaign.

  3. Donor Perk -  CC escrowed on behalf of a specific campaign to be used as a perk, if not sold is converted to host CC and donated to the campaign

  4. Advertising Perk -  CC escrowed on behalf of a specific campaign to be used as a perk, if not sold reverts back to the sponsor.  Unsold funds are NOT donated to campaign.

and

  1. Video - 5 sec message at start of campaign video: “This video is brought to you by …”

The 1 Million PICISI tokens will be created to fund the start-up, and to recruit admin, contractors (writers, producers,  promoters, etc …).  Typically tokens are earned by those who satisfactorily complete specific assignments; the overwhelming majority of those assignments are associated with promotion of one kind or another; a small percentage of those assignments are related to development of the website and/or the organization.

Site income is derived from campaign fees, sponsorship fees, and campaign contractor fees.

PICISI tokens are not mineable, however they can be purchased directly from us for fiat or any publicly traded currency.  Eventually, the tokens can be sold or traded at public exchanges.  Once PICISI starts to generate revenue all fees collected in fiat will be used to buy PICISI tokens on the open market.
