BRIEF SUMMARY


Professor Efraim Turban received his Ph.D. and M.B.A. from the University of California Berkeley. For the past 40 years, he has invariably served as a chaired professor, professor, and administrator for various universities all over the world.  Professor Turban, semi-retired now, is a visiting scholar at the Pacific Institute for Information System Management, University of Hawaii. Prior to this he was on the faculty of several universities including California State University Long Beach, University of California, Los Angeles, (UCLA), Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Nanyang Technological University, City University of Hong Kong, Lehigh University, Florida International University, Eastern Illinois University, Simon Fraser University (Canada), and the University of Southern California.


Professor Turban is the author of over 100 refereed papers published in leading journals such as Management Science, Management Information Systems Quarterly, Decision Support Systems, Journal of Management Information Systems, Organizational Computing and Electronic Commerce and International Journal of Electronic Commerce.  He is also the author of 22 textbooks including   #1 on Amazon bestseller (Electronic Commerce). His textbooks were translated to 7 languages including Chinese, Korean, Portuguese, Indonesian and Japanese.

 

Professor Turban has received a National Award on artificial intelligence in the USA. He is also a consultant to major corporations world wide. His academic accreditation and evaluation experience involves dozens of universities and programmes in many countries.  In particular, he has been instrumental in developing Electronic Commerce programmes in USA, Singapore, Finland, Korea, Hong Kong, Australia, Taiwan and Macau. He facilitated the publication of two books on e-commerce in developing countries (by Ali Sanayei).

 

Professor Turban’s current areas of interest are several topics in social commerce implementation.
