Preservation of the Baltic Sea Basin
The Baltic Sea unites nine countries: Russia, Germany, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The Baltic Sea is unique and very vulnerable. Today it is one of the most polluted seas in the world. SUE “Vodokanal of St.Petersburg” provides wastewater disposal services to the largest city, situated on the banks of the Baltic Sea. The measure of our responsibility for the condition of the Baltic Sea corresponds to the scale of the city. Thus, planning its work “Vodokanal of St. Petersburg” aims at creating conditions for sustainable development not only of its own city but also for the whole Baltic region. It also involves continuous improvement of wastewater treatment process.
