Spencer Graves is a professional engineer with a PhD in statistics and substantial experience applying and extending statistical theory to a wide variety of applications ranging from public policy to improving productivity and quality, monitoring human, social and physical processes and biostatistics.  Some of this is documented in over 30 published papers and two books, on which he either the lead or a contributing author.  Since the late 1990s, he has also done research on the long-term impact of violence and nonviolence.  He can be reached at spencer.graves at effectivedefense dot org.
