Edward J. Podolski is an Associate Professor in the Department of Finance at Deakin Business School. He is also the Higher Degrees Research Director in the Faculty of Business and Law at Deakin University. Before joining Deakin University in 2016, Edward was a Lecturer in the Department of Economics and Finance at La Trobe University between 2013 and 2016.

Edward specialises in empirical corporate finance. His main areas of expertise are the determinants and consequences of corporate innovation.  He is also interested in corporate decision making, employee compensation, weather-induced mood effects on corporate outcomes, as well as the effects of foreign competition on financial markets. 

Edward's educational background includes a PhD in Finance from Monash University (graduated May of 2014), as well as a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) and Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree, also from Monash University.

Outside of finance, Edward's interests revolve around European and Asian history, political philosophy, astronomy, and Buddhist art.  Edward is also a traditional Chinese tea enthusiast.
