United Nations Sustainable Development Network

SDG Academy - Education for Sustainability

The United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) aims to tackle some of the world’s most pressing environmental, social and economic problems.  A United Nations initiative launched by Secretary General Ban Ki Moon in August 2012, the Sustainable Development Solutions Network comprises research centres, universities and technical institutions working towards achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.  In October 2015, UN Member States committed to achieving Agenda 2030, which includes 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The goals provide a framework for shared action to be implemented by all countries and all stakeholders, acting in collaborative partnership.

As part of the SDNC, the education for sustainable development initiative, the SDG Academy, will provide mass online education in the field of sustainable development - a comprehensive core curriculum is planned.  21 Dec 2016.
