About Me

Kristin's background is as an elementary teacher.  In 2005 she was selected as a state level Keystone Technology Integrator.  She has taught a variety of elementary and middle school positions, served as the Technology Integration Coach for Pennsylvania's Classrooms for the Future Initiative and taught Business and Computer Science at the High School Level.  

Kristin has received several awards for her work.  Her project Hands Across PA designed to connect elementary students in urban, rural and suburban classrooms was recognized with distinguished honors for SIGTEL's Online Learning Award in 2005.  She received the PAECT Mary C Renner Achievement Award for her work connecting educators across the state in the PA Geocaching project. 

Kristin is a skilled presenter and has presented at  conferences including the Pennsylvania Educational Technology Conference and Expo, ISTE/NECC, NCTE National Conference, FETC, Eastern Business Leaders Association Conference, NJECC, EduCon, and PA Business Educators Association.  

Kristin is actively involved in technology integration at local, state, and national levels, giving numerous workshops and presentations on variety of topics.  She has been invited to do workshop and facilitate teacher training at Discovery Educator Network Regional Leadership Conference, Keystone Technology Integrator Summit, Classrooms for the Future Boot Camp, PA School Librarians Conference, VA Beach Library Media Specialist workshop, as well as many others. As Affiliated Faculty with Media Education Lab at University of Rhode Island one of Kristin's primary goals is to help teachers to develop a greater understanding of media literacy and digital responsibility.

A Keystone Technology Integrator, STAR Discovery Educator, PA Discovery Educator Network Leadership Council Co-Chair, PAECT Membership Chair/PD Lead,  Kristin maintains The Connected Classroom Blog and Wikispace and focuses her work on creating collaborative opportunities for teachers and students.
