Rebecca Girard
I have loved teaching high school science for the past 22 years. Four years ago I took a leap and embarked on my master's degree in Education Media Design and Technology, graduating in the summer of 2012. I found my educational passions, science, and technology! I am dedicated to engaging and
 motivating my students through the
meaningful incorporation of technology into the curriculum. I am blessed to teach at an all-girls Catholic high school where my mission is to inspire these young women who will be the scientific minds of tomorrow.

In addition to teaching science, I am now the lead faculty Ed Tech Instigator for my school. I support and encourage my colleagues as we continue to implement new tools. When I am not surfing the web for the latest and greatest, I am spending time with my husband and two girls.

I have been in education for over 20 years, the last 16 of which have been at an all-girls Catholic High School teaching every history course we offer, with one exception: AP Government.  I have recently transitioned into Administration and I am currently serving as the Associate Principal for Curriculum and Instruction.
Technology has naturally fallen under my oversight, and I am proud to be an administrative Ed Tech Instigator. I couldn't be happier as I love learning what is new and helpful for teachers and administrators alike and then helping teachers see how they, too, can become a tech-using connected educator.

I am a wife, mom, and avid SF Giants fan. I love to experiment in the kitchen, read and travel...when I am not browsing my Twitter feed for new, fun technology ideas!

I taught high school science for nine years and I'm currently teaching science to middle school and upper elementary students. I have taught Earth/Physical Science, Biology/Honors Biology, and Sports Medicine.  I'm happy to say that the initial enthusiasm I felt while becoming a teacher has only grown each year! I find motivation to continually improve as a teacher from my students and fabulous colleagues.  In the last 5 years, my Ed Tech Sensei, Rebecca, has opened my eyes to this wonderful world of integration of meaningful  technology into my curriculum.  I have learned so much and I'm hungry for more!

When I'm not in the classroom you can find me outdoors with my husband and two sons...running, skiing, hiking, rock climbing, etc!
