The Edmonton Grads Youth Basketball was founded to honour the legacy of the famous Edmonton Grads women's basketball team by supporting youth basketball in the Edmonton region. The Edmonton region has not had the legacy of club basketball found in many other north american cities except for this outstanding women's team which existing from 1915 to 1940. The Edmonton Grads Youth Basketball Association was formed in 2002 to promote club basketball and today has 10 spring teams representing the association. The typical Grads participant is a dedicated basketball player ranging in age from 11 through 16. Though we have had some U19 teams in the past, we do not currently have teams at that age level.
Our goals are to promote basketball and enhance the development opportunities for players that aspire to play through a longer season and at a higher level. We compliment the other programs in the city that introduce basketball to beginners and accommodate casual players.
The Edmonton Youth Basketball Association is the Region's grass roots basketball development program for players of almost any age and skill level. The EYBA and the programs offered by schools and community leagues do an excellent job of introducing the sport of basketball. Our goal is to help committed players extend their season through participation in highly competitive tournaments and alternative leagues such as the JP Spring League run at the Go Centre
The Edmonton Grads Youth Basketball Association are a founding partner of the Edmonton GO Community Centre.
The Edmonton Grads Youth Basketball Association is a registered non-profit association.
