Spiced Mushrooms


  • 10 mushrooms-cleaned, sliced 
  • 1 tsp chillie powder
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds (freshly ground)
  • 2 tsp veg oil for frying

  1. Blanch the mushrooms in boiling, salted water for 1 minute. 
  2. Remove and wipe excess water from the mushrooms with tissue paper.
  3. Heat 2 tsp oil in a wok or frying pan, saute the mushroom slices for 1 minute .
  4. Add chilli powder,turmeric powder, garam masala powder and cumin.  Mix well.
  5. Saute for 5 minutess.
  6. This dish can be served as a side with rice or  as another selection of a banquet.
