District Outcomes

Outcome 1:  Demonstrates competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of physical activities.  (Physical Skills)

 

The student will:

Demonstrate competence in modified versions of a variety of movement forms.

Demonstrate competence in modified versions of a variety of individual, dual and team sports.

Outcome 2:  Demonstrates understanding of movement concepts, principles, strategies and tactics as they apply to the learning and performance of physical activities.    (Knowledge)

 

The student will:

Identify the critical elements of advanced movement skills and game strategies.

Apply advanced movement skills and game strategies.

Apply discipline specific knowledge.

 

Outcome 3:  Participates regularly in physical activity.   (Physical Activity)

 

The student will:

Participate daily in some form of health-enhancing physical activity.

Explore a variety of new physical activities for personal interest in and out of the physical education class.

Describe and document the relationships between a healthy lifestyle

and “feeling good.”

Participate in new and challenging lifelong activities.

 

Outcome 4:  Achieves and maintains a health-enhancing level of fitness.

 

The student will:

Participate in moderate to vigorous physical activity in a variety of settings.

Demonstrate an understanding of the   “F.I.T.T.” principle through a variety of physical activities .

Assess physiological indicators of exercise during and after physical activity

Meet health related fitness standards as defined by a valid and reliable fitness test

 

Outcome 5:  Exhibits responsible personal and social behavior in physical activity settings. (Behavioral Skills)

 

The student will:

Demonstrate personal responsibility by accepting the consequences of personal behavior.

Work in a group to achieve goals in cooperative and competitive activities.

Resolve conflict by identifying causes and potential solutions.

Identify the influence of peer pressure on physical activity.

 

Outcome 6:  Values physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, self-expression, and social interaction. (Intrinsic Value)

 

Enjoy participation in physical activities.

Recognize the importance of physical activity as a tool for displaying socially acceptable behaviors.

Recognize physical activity as a vehicle for self-expression.

Communicate feelings in a socially acceptable manner.
