In their tenth anniversary year, the School Sisters of Notre Dame have plenty to celebrate.  The educational center is a Catholic organization that teaches and empowers “underserved women of all races and faiths to reach the fullness of their potential,” according to their mission statement. Last week, SSNDEC held two Closing Ceremonies – one for ESL (English as a Second language) and another for HSE (High School Equivalency, formerly GED). Ten HSE students and 55 ESL students received certificates of achievement and many of them spoke about the changes that the programs at SSNDEC have brought to their lives. (Click here to read more.)

SSNDEC provides a safe and welcoming environment for women to improve their lives. They do this by offering low-cost educational services that teaches them English, helps them receive their GED, improves their computer skills and more.
