Welcome to my page!
I'm an associate professor in economics at Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH) and Leipzig University in Germany. I'm also a guest researcher at the Institute of Digital Finance of Peking University and Deutsche Bundesbank. Currently I'm serving as an associate editor for the Journal of Financial Stability and a co-editor for the Economic Change and Restructuring.
I received Ph.D. in Economics from Peking University in 2018. I was a part-time economist at the IMF office in China in 2017-2018 and a visiting research fellow at the University of Minnesota in 2016-2017.
My main research fields are (i) international finance and (ii) FinTech. In particular, I am interested in the effects of capital account liberalization and cross-border capital flows on firm and bank performance. Benefiting from the access to some interesting and unique data, I also have a pipeline of work on the interaction between FinTech and monetary policy.
