The Ph.D. program in Economics at Ecole Polytechnique-Paris Saclay trains highly qualified and motivated students to the tools and methods of economics, both from a theoretical and empirical point of view.

Our goal is to produce doctoral students who are able to pursue careers at a high level in  academia, government agencies or consultancies.

Ecole Polytechnique is one of the founders of the University of Paris-Saclay, a consortium of world-renowned French Universities and“grandes ecoles.”

Located near Paris, Ecole Polytechnique has a distinguished tradition of attracting the best scientific undergraduate students in France. Although more recently established, the graduate school shares a similar ambition of excellence. The Economics department is expanding with world-class researchers in most fields of Economics.

In 2011, the French government has given our department, HEC and CREST  a large endowment (Labex Ecodec) to create a center in economics, management and social sciences.  This endowment is currently used to finance faculty and Ph.D students of the three institutions, to organize conferences, and host visiting professors.

The Economics department of Ecole Polytechnique and CREST-Ensae  have recently merged.  In the academic year 2016-17, the two research centers will move to a new building in the Ecole Polytechnique campus.  More Info here.
