On Friday 20 April and Monday 23 April, a day-long rolling presentation, given by Jeroen Tummers, focused on World Fish Migration Day, the AMBER project and the Barrier Tracker app. The public at Durham University showed interest in each of these.
Citizen Science Project / Barrier Tracker app
It is part of the AMBER project. By using the Barrier Tracker app people help to complete the European Barrier Atlas, a key tool for policy makers, water managers and conservationists. Using the app in the helps with gathering of more data and greater spatial coverage of records than would have been possible using conventional surveys. Typical data gathered includes a photo of the barrier, the location of the barrier and the height of the barrier.
