Passivhaus Awareness

Free half day seminar!!

According to UK government figures, around 50% of Britain's energy related CO2 emissions are due to energy consumption to heat and light buildings. Modern sustainable building design is a great way to cut these emissions. If you're interested in eco friendly buildings then this free half day seminar is for you!

The Passivhaus Standard is the fastest growing low energy standard in Europe with over 20,000 building realised to date, with many more currently being designed and constructed. Passivhaus buildings have a high level of indoor air quality and roughly achieve a 75% reduction in space heating requirements compared to the standard practice for UK new build.

This event is aimed at raising awareness of the Passivhaus standard amongst those with an interest in low-energy design, and construction. It introduces the delegates to the Passivhaus standard, highlighting the basic characteristics of Passivhaus buildings, the certification requirements and how to set about designing a building to the standard. The morning will finish with a demonstration of the Passivhaus Planning Package (PHPP), the design and certification tool used to model Passivhaus.
