New support programme for local action from Low Carbon Communities Network

LCCN is launching a new training and support programme open to any group. We aim to use existing skills within Low Carbon Communities across England and focus on sharing those skills through Mentoring and ‘Buddying’.

Mentoring is a proven system for building skills and avoiding burn-out. Buddying is a simpler system where someone coordinating a group is linked with someone in a similar role and supported to discuss their work, share ideas etc..

We’re looking for:

People who would like to be mentors for people who are new (or newish) to running local climate action / low carbon groups. If you’ve been involved for some years and would like to share and refresh your skills this could be for you!

People who would like to be mentored. If you’re relatively new to local action and would like some one-to-one support and advice for a few months, then this is for you.

People who’d like to be ‘buddys’. Buddying is about putting two groups in touch with one another, getting them to understand what each other are doing, share ideas and even problems, and maybe plan some joint activities.
