EcoLabs intend to make the first EcoHub in Brixton central square in front of Lambeth Town Hall (South London, UK). EcoHubs need to be visible, accessible and intriguing physical spaces. EcoLabs has launched this project hoping to attract architects who will help us design and then build a low cost, open-source community hub for Transition Town Brixton.

EcoLabs aims to nurture whole systems thinking, foster ecological literacy, and create an alternative cultural vision that will drive transformational change to meet the goals of a fully sustainable society. We are a not for profit network ofdesigners and visual artists who create materials, projects and programs that support ecological literacy.

We aim to:
- Engage diverse audiences with environmental information with visual displays.
- Investigate issues lying at the root of our ecological crisis and suggest solutions.
- Visualize global warming in compelling ways and communicate a sense of urgency.
Embed ecological literacy into the cultural, communications and design industries.
- Provide a resource, network and a platform for engaged designers and visual artists.
