The Emory Center for Mathematics and Computing in Medicine is an initiative started by Prof. Alessandro Veneziani at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of Emory University.

E(CM)2 aims at using advance mathematical methods and computing solutions to solve challenging biological and medical problems.

Our specialties include
  • Computational modeling of blood flow in the cardiovascular system;
  • Numerical simulations of the electric potential propagation in the heart;
  • Identification of subject-specific physical parameters (e.g. the arterial compliance or the electrical conductivity of the cardiac tissue);
  • Design of biomedical devices (LVAD or stents).
