Costs

So far, we have spent over half of what we intend on spending on the project - we are at $110K. The only cost not included in here is our land - that was a cost of $85,000 for 66 acres mixed pasture & wood lot (with outbuildings, approach & hydro). Check out our costs broken down by items up to October 15th, 2012 in the attached PDF.

Biggest cost items?
-Glass for the windows - on a global model it's we have exterior & interior windows and doors
-Insulation - we are putting in a lot more insulation than a class ES or ones they have done in other climates
-Roof - We are spending a lot to get a quality roof that will hold up to a Manitoba winter
-Wood - From structural beams to moisture proof window boxes - there is a lot of wood involved in the build
