Revitalizing "Las Delicias" urban Creek, year 2013

Last Saturday february 2nd, in a joint venture between CONSERVATION INTERNATIONAL COLOMBIA and EARTH RESOURCES ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP, we started a localized restoration of "Las Delicias" urban Creek, which flows near Barrio Bosque Calderón, down the eastern hills of Bogota, Colombia.  This first step was to pick up solid wastes from the Creek´s main stream and strips of land alongside, so we could change its appearance to a more natural landscape and restore in part, its normal flow of water.  Our teamwork consisted of neighborhood children, especialized Environmental Brigadists, Volunteers, Corporate Representatives and the Metropolitan Police.  Here are some pictures of the Creek main stream process of "revitalization".
