Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us.  Eagle's Nest Draft Rehab and Sanctuary (ENDRS) is an Arkansas Non-Profit Corporation and is a Federally recognized public charity under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code IRS 501(c)(3) Certification Letter.  ENDRS is passionate about rehabilitating neglected horses and working to end the transportation of American horses destined for slaughter across United States borders.  Our particular interests focus on educating the public about the truths of horse slaughter and helping drafts who have worked hard their whole lives to avoid the horrible fate of slaughter.  Although drafts are our focus, we are always ready and willing to help any animal in need when space at the rescue is available.

We are located in Northwest Arkansas and have a solid relationship with the local humane society: Scott Hall is the Vice President of the Humane Society of the Ozarks and you can speak with him to vouch for our legitimacy.  Scott Hall can be reached at: 479-973-5200.  Likewise, Carmen Nelson is the Executive Director of the Animal League of Washington County, Arkansas and you can speak with her to vouch for our legitimacy.  Carmen Nelson can be reached at  479-236-8832.  Also, feel free to contact Lou Guyton, 817-473-9869, who is the former Southwest regional director of The Humane Society of the United States and current Senior Director for the ASPCA.  Ms. Guyton has personally visited ENDRS barn. In fact, in December, 2007, ENDRS assisted Ms. Guyton with the adoption of an Amish plowhorse destined for slaughter.  Finally, feel free to contact our Veterinarian, Dr. Leach, Dr. Shackleford, Dr. McCarver or their clinic Tech Michael Fowler:  ENDRS VETERINARIAN

ENDRS is staffed exclusively by volunteers, there are no paid positions.
