January 4--
  • Our school spelling bee will be at the end of Catholic Schools Week.  Today I sent home word lists with students.  The first page has the third-grade words on the front and fourth-grade words on the back.  The second page has all the words from Kindergarten through eighth grade on the front and back.
  • Students also received book order forms from Scholastic Books.  Students who are placing an order should return the form or order online by Wednesday.

January 3, 2019--Today I sent home permission forms for four field trips.  Third grade will go to Mercer Slough (in Bellevue) February 26.  We will need drivers for this.  Fourth grade will go to Mercer Slough March 5.  We will need one or two drivers for this (depending upon how many seats a driver may have).  The Mercer Slough field trips are all-day trips.  Drivers do not have to stay, but they may.  Both grades will go on three nature journaling field trips to Hill Park: February 7,  April 4, and May 23, from 8:45 to 10:30 a.m. each of those days.  (One field trip form grants permission for all three of these.)  We will walk across the street to Hill park for these trips.  I would like two or three parent chaperones for these outdoor experiences.  Please put these dates on your calendar.  Meanwhile, please fill out the two field trip forms (both sides) and return.   Thank you so much!

July 6, 2018--Welcome to the home page of Mrs. Murphy's website for grades three and four.  On this site Mrs. Murphy and Mr. Egan will list what we did each day in our classes and what homework we have assigned.  In the menu at the left, select which page you would like to read.  For each page, the most recent day will be on top.   If you scroll down, you will find previous days in order.  In the daily summary for each class, homework will be in red.  Mrs. Murphy teaches the language arts:  reading, grammar, writing, vocabulary, and spelling as well as science and religion.  Mr. Egan teaches math and social studies.

Sometimes a student may have homework that is different from that of his or her classmates. I will try my best to make it clear.  It is my policy to never use students' names on this website.  I will occasionally add dated announcements to this home page to communicate important information to you.
