My name is Ryan Kirschman. This blog is meant to demonstrate progress I have made in creating a game engine for my Engineering class. Our game engine is made from scratch in C++. I built my engine for both OpenGL and Direct3D to demonstrate how to build for multiple platforms and how to perform platform-independent coding. The engine I build culminated in one final project, Flopter, a game where the player must fly a helicopter around the screen, avoiding any on-coming spikes. It's similar to Balloon Trip or Flappy Bird. While the gameplay is 2D, the graphics were 3D for our 3D rendering system. I invite everyone to read the blogs, see the progress I made, and most definitely play the game.
