Psalms 1

American King James Version
1 Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful.

2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law does he meditate day and night.

3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.

4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind drives away.

5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

6 For the LORD knows the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly     shall perish.

His delight is in the law of the Lord.  His delight is in the Word of God.   And in this law (His Word) does he meditate day and night.

<< Psalm 37:4 >>
Delight yourself also in the LORD: and he shall give you the desires of your heart

<< Psalm 34:8 >>
O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man
that trusts in him.

<< 1 Peter 1:8 >>
Whom having not seen, you love; in whom, though now you see him not, yet believing, you rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory

I think you get  the picture.  Delighting in the Lord and delighting in His word.  There is nothing in this world that can compare.  I don't care what it is because I have been there.   There is nothing that can compare to being in the manifest presence of the creator.

<< Acts 3:19 >>
Repent you therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

Think about a time when you were so very thirsty.   Your mouth is extremely dry and you are famished for
thirst.  Think about the refreshing feeling when you drink that cool, clear water.  Jesus will do that for our dry and thirsty souls.

<< Psalm 16:11 >>
You will show me the path of life: in your presence is fullness of joy; at your right hand there are pleasures for ever more.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.

What a promise!!!   And when you read verses 4 through 6 you can ask yourself,     Why would you want to not be a christian?   Now I am not saying that life will become peaches and plums, because as a christian you will have trials and even persecutions.  But you have trials whether you are a christian or not.  However as a christian, when you have trials, you have the Holy Spirit to refresh you, comfort you, and encourage you.

<< Deuteronomy 31:8 >>
And the LORD, he it is that does go before you; he will be with you, he will not fail you, neither forsake you: fear not, neither be dismayed.

You can give your life to the Lord

today.   You can go to the prayer on

this page and give your life to Jesus.

He will forgive you of all of your sins,

no matter what, and He will make you

into a new creation to glorify Him.

Father, in the Name of Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and fall short of Your grace and deserving of eternal separation from God, but I know that Jesus died in my place for my sins.  I ask You to forgive me of my sins, and I receive the free gift of Jesus in my heart.  I believe that You have forgiven me and I am now a new creation in Christ Jesus.  I commit my life completely to Jesus for the rest of my life and I believe I now have eternal life with You.  Thank you Father, in Jesus Name, that I am saved.
