My first interest was Bicomplex numbers, and this paper explains how you can 'make' a bicomplex number from a complex number. It also contains the first correct derivation of the modulus of a bicomplex number (a sort of synthesis of schoolroom Pythagoras with the Minkowskian (hyperbolic) sort) - see Eqn.2. After making a bicomplex number I thought, shouldn't this be how maths works in general - growing big structures from small ones? Isn't that what counting does? Isn't mathematics about changing things? What, then, is the mathematics, not simply of change, but of what causes change? How do we describe a Mathematical Dynamic ? Pretty soon I got a bit carried away (in mathematical time, through gloopy space, and possibly heading towards some rather dark matter).

Finally, I've been suspicious about Gödel for some time. Is he circular? OK, he did come up with an amazing mathematical statement the truth of which cannot be decided (in the system in which it's written). And, yes, that statement does assert a truth.... buut .....
