Dry Northern Beans

1 Package Dry Northern Beans
4 strips of bacon (or ham hocks, or pork)
salt and pepper to taste

Put dry beans in a bowl of water. Make sure the water is an inch or so above the beans. Soak overnight. The next morning, rinse beans in a collander very well. Add an inch and a half of water in a large pot, then add beans. Put uncooked bacon (or meat) in and add salt & pepper to taste. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover and simmer for 2-3 hours. Remove from heat and let cool. That's it, Enjoy!
