Charity

A key element of Freemasonry is its charity work and the raising of funds for worthy causes in the community. There are also a number of Masonic care facilities throughout the State which provide services to elderly Masons and their partners as well as to the community generally. This facilities require a large amount of funding to operate and maintain, in addition to the raising for capital for new facilities.
The members of Dunellan Lodge have been very active over the last 50 years in supporting U.G.L.Q. with contributions to its major projects and Masonic care facilities. In the last 23 years Dunellan Lodge has made contributions to U.G.L.Q. for the following major projects:
  • Royal Children's Hospital;
  • Masonic Chair of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Queensland;
  • Cerebral Palsy League;
  • Flying Doctor Service;
and more recently the
  • Leukemia Foundation;
  • Queensland Institute of Medical Research for the purchase of a new generation Delta Vision Deconvolutional Core Microscope; and
  • Flood Relief
