A recent garage sale find. This is a rather primitive and boxy looking 'Goldtone' brand radio which utilizes a four transistor circuit. For transistor radio collectors like myself "primitive' and 'boxy' are not necessarily a bad thing. It has the look and feel of an earlier Japanese set - hefty, thick thermosetting plastic and bold features. Judging from the internal components I'd date this radio to the very early 60's - although it would seem from its physical appearance that it could have been released in 1957 or 58. I am uncertain who the manufacturer was. Also not sure of the model number although I have seen this particular radio under other brand names one of which was Yuko.

Delightful 1940s School of Haskell or Carnegie Goldtone Wirework Brooch
We're convinced that this delightful quality brooch is from the school of Haskell or possibly Hattie Carnegie. The combination of engraved and plain wirework is reminiscent of early Haskell but was also used by Carnegie. Two central baby blue Austrian crystal stones lightly coated with Aurora Borealis and finished with small chaton cut clear stones sit amongst tiny faux seed pearls and frosted art glass coated goldtone leaves. Haskell or not it is a treasure! Date: 1940s
