Delaware Diamonds 2016 - 2017
The Diamond State Reading Association hopes that you will share this information with others on your staff so they can join us in introducing young readers to contemporary books with outstanding literary appeal. We also have the support of BookTalk, at www.mackinbooktalk.com. It’s an interactive program for students, offering a summary of the books on the list of nominees for the 2014 Delaware Diamonds Award. This site also includes information about authors, other book suggestions, and a tab where students can rate their favorites. If you have any questions, please contact Karen Gordon (email@example.com) or Kathy Shearer (firstname.lastname@example.org)
In order to participate in this award program at the elementary level, a teacher or librarian must complete the attached form and return it by October 17, 2015. In November, the teacher or librarian will be sent a bookmark for each participating child, listing the nominated books. Ballots and voting procedures will be sent out in the Spring.
Reading can start at any time, but must be completed in time for ballots to be returned by March 27, 2015. In order to encourage participants to complete the program, anyone returning a completed ballot by this date will be eligible to win a set of books for the following year. Four sets will be awarded. Winning titles will be posted on the website and announced at the Diamond State Reading Association Spring Banquet.
