Personal Interests

I am a philosophy professor at DePauw University. I have been teaching at DePauw since 1990. I specialized in Continental Philosophy, especially German 19th century philosophy, which I teach in my Existentialism class and topics classes. I have also specialization in Medieval Philosophy. I teach regularly the Philosophy of Art and Philosophy of Sex and Gender, which is cross-listed with Woman's Studies.

I have edited two books: G. W. F. Hegel, Spirit (Hackett, 2001); The Challenges of Globalization: Rethinking Nature, Culture, and Freedom (Wiley-Blackwell, 2007).  I have published sixteen articles/chapters.

I am married and have two children.
