| About Our Families |

Don and Susan both grew up at the beach - Susan in Ocean City, Md. and Don in Miami, Fla. Our families still live in our hometowns. Susan is an only child and was adopted as a baby. Don has one younger brother. Both sets of our parents are very excited to be grandparents for the very first time. Our families get along well and everyone spends the holidays together whenever possible.

About Susan's Family

Susan’s parents have been married for more than 40 years, 38 of them spent in Ocean City, Md. just about a mile from the ocean.

They adopted Susan when she was just 8 months old.

About a year ago they both retired on the same day and have loved every minute of it, traveling and having fun adventures together.

Last year they took a three-week trip to see the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone National Park and other parts of the country they had never seen.

Susan's father is from North Carolina and served in the U.S. Air Force before moving to Maryland where he met Susan's mom. Susan's mother is from Baltimore, Md. and has lived in the state most of her life. Growing up, Susan was close with family on both sides.

They look forward to long weekends with their first grandchild playing in the sun and sand.

 About Don's Family

Don’s parents have been married for 45 years and have lived in Miami for most of their lives. Don’s younger brother lives in Miami, too.

When the kids were young, Don’s dad loved to take them boating. In his retirement, he’s become a hobbyist plane pilot.

Don’s mom works at a coffee shop to keep busy and she considers all her young co-workers her extra “kids”. She's a wonderful baker and makes treats all the time.

Don's father met Don's mother when he was in school with her brother. Don was lucky that his grandparents lived in the same town as he was growing up and he got to see them almost every day.

Don's parents love to sneak away to Virginia during the height of Miami summers and host Don and Susan when the winter gets to be too much.

They are looking forward to meeting their very first grandchild.
