BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

  Dr. Umadevi V was born in Kolar, Karnataka, India. She is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), an honor bestowed upon individuals who have made significant contributions to the profession. Obtained her B.E in Computer Science and Engineering degree from Bangalore University, India in 1998. Received M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering degree with 3rd Rank from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, India in 2002. Awarded with Ph.D degree from IIT Madras, India during the year 2011. Since September, 2012, she is associated as Professor in the department of Computer Science and Engineering, B. M. S. College of Engineering, Bangalore. She served as Head of CSE department, B. M. S. College of Engineering from January 2019 to February 2022. Earlier, she worked as faculty member at Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering-Bangalore, then at Dr. T. Thimmaiah Institute of Technology-KGF, Karnataka and at Kuppam Engineering College, Kuppam. She has total a teaching experience of 17 years. Three Book chapters, Thirty Conference Papers and Twenty Seven Journal Papers has been published. She served as a resource person for conduction of workshops on Latex and Deep Learning, to faculty members of various engineering colleges. She is serving as Associate Editor for Cureus Journal of Computer Science, which is a part of Springer nature. Research grants have been obtained from TEQIP and Amoudi Scientific Research Foundation of Majmaah University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to conduct research in the area of Medical Thermography and COVID-19 related work.

Resume
