What we eat and drink, that must we also see and hear, feel, smell. But we mustn’t remain at this sentimental relation. We chew and grind what we eat with our anaesthetic teeth not only to taste it – taste like other senses is here only a means – but in order to incorporate it in ourselves, to transform it into flesh and blood, to make its essence our essence.
