I obtained my BSc (2000) and MSc (2001) degrees in Microbiology from the University of Sindh-Jamshoro and PhD (2010) in Molecular Microbiology from the Department of Microbiology, University of Nottingham, England, UK. I currently hold the position of Professor in the Institute of Microbiology, University of Sindh-Jamshoro, Pakistan. During my PhD studies at University of Nottingham, I worked on molecular and immunological characterization of the meningococcal glycolytic enzymes and outer-membrane proteins and investigated their potential roles in vaccine development against Neisseria meningitidis serogroup B. My current research interests include the molecular pathogenesis of, and host response to, Neisseria meningitidis and the role of bacterial outer-membrane and secreted proteins in pathogenesis and their potential as vaccine candidates. I have published my research work in peer reviewed journals and presented the research work at various major international conferences including UK, USA, Canada and Europe. I am currently a member of a number of Academic Scientific societies including the Society for General Microbiology (UK) and the American Society for Microbiology (ASM).
