r. Lisa Rodriguez has been in higher education for 18 years serving both as  faculty and administrator. She is the Director of The Center for Teaching and Learning and Assistant Professor at the University of La Verne where she guides both the strategic and operational efforts of the Center for Teaching and Learning and is responsible for leading and developing collaborative support for academic technology. She works closely with faculty to raise awareness, understanding, comfort, and skill levels in technology. 

Dr. Rodriguez directs the certification for online teaching program for the University whereby faculty who will teach new hybrid and online courses participate in an virtual online academy focused on methodology and instructional design.  In conjunction with the CIO, Dr. Rodriguez monitors the effectiveness of the recent integration of the campus enterprise database and course management systems. Additionally, she is involved in the final stages of a campus-wide initiative to upgrade all learning spaces to smart classrooms to the current capacity of 96% "smart" learning spaces. Additionally, she conducts  instructional technology research initiatives, and assessment for students and faculty. 

Lisa prefers to stay connected to students. To this end, her current teaching assignment is Computers for Educators (Undergraduate) & Advanced Educational Computer Applications (Graduate) in the School Education and Organizational Leadership.  During the academic years 2008-2011 Lisa will take a hiatus from teaching to advise the College of Business and Public Management in their Title V efforts to incorporate appropriate student-centered instructional technologies into their Business courses and to assess faculty and student technology  implementation.  

 Lisa holds a Ph.D. and an M.A. in Education from the Claremont Graduate University, and a B.A. in English Literature from California State Polytechnic University.  The mother of one teenage son, she is an anime, photography, film, and science fiction fan. In her free time she retreats to Laguna Beach.
