Why contract a historian?

There comes the time to put the pieces of the past together and find meaning for ourselves and have a story to tell.

It is not as easy as one might think. And can be time-consuming, especially if you are not sure what records you need. There is also a logic and an art in writing a history from primary source material.

Professional historians know where to find those missing pieces and are able to interpret accurately to produce precise & interesting narratives

Experience

I have a history Ph.D. and have completed post-doctoral work in local history projects, including a short history of St Barnabas Anglican Church in Red Hill. I have published several papers in an international reference book on historic places and history conference publications. I am a certified member of the Professional Historians Association (Queensland).

Recently, as a history consultant, I have provided clients with information on their relatives' connections with various aspects of Queensland social history, including participation in the Queensland pastoral industry in the 1920s, and school teaching careers in the the first half of the twentieth century.

I have a professional background as a speechwriter and researcher, working with four Vice-Chancellors, three at the University of Melbourne (Gilbert, Lee Dow, and Davis) and one at Griffith University (Webb).
