A first generation Singaporean who got the ticket to enter this blue planet the year Albert Einstein made his exit, I spent my childhood at Redhill and my teenage years at Queenstown, Singapore. I trace my ancestry to the vicinity of the City of the Endless Serpent in God's Own Country  fringed with emerald green palm trees, lagoons and long stretches of golden beaches hugged by the blue waters of the Arabian Sea. After A-levels at St. Joseph's Institution in Singapore, followed by the mandatory National Service with the Singapore Armed Forces at the 1st Battalion Singapore Infantry Regiment (1SIR) from December 1973 - June 1976, I pursued my dreams in Aerospace passionately through India and USA for 12 years before returning home where I was on the faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Nanyang Technological University for 21 years. From July 2010 to Nov 2015, I was on the faculty of Mechanical Engineering at  IIT Gandhinagar, India. Since Sep 2016, I was with National University of Singapore initially as an Educator Track Faculty in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and then as a Senior Research Scientist from Feb 2018-Feb 2023 and from Mar 2023 as an Adjunct Senior Research Scientist at the Centre for Aerodynamics and Propulsion at Temasek Laboratories, National University of Singapore. From Apr 2023, I am a Visiting Professor in the Dept. of Aerospace Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India.
