About me

I was born in Nijmegen, The Netherlands, in 1979. My parents moved to Oamaru, in New Zealand, in 1990, and I came to Aotearoa with them.

In 2008, I married my wife Alexandra, in 2011 we were delighted to welcome our son Søren Nikolai to the world, and to our further delight in 2013, our youngest boy Bramwell Pieter was born.

Together with my wonderful family, I live in beautiful Christchurch, the Garden City (more recently known as Earthquake City, due to the tragic events surrounding the February 2011 earthquake), about halfway down the east coast of the South Island of New Zealand.

Currently I am working as a Lecturer (Assistant Professor in the North American system) in the Maths & Stats department of Canterbury University, where my research interests have branched out into many different areas; you can find my professional webpage here.
